Unit 6
Time For Something Different...
Points: 30
You have been working really hard trying to capture perfect detail. So let's switch things up. In this unit you will relax a little and try something looser. Do you remember scribble technique? Well, let's bring that back and have some fun with it... Then you'll wrap up this unit with a study drawing, so you'll have a chance to be creative.
Step 1: Scribble Trees (25 points)
Here you have the option to either go outside, or to continue to work from online images. You will find a tree and draw it, in graphite, with the scribble technique. Whichever way you do it, make sure you choose a tree that you can see completely, and that is nice and full, and green. You will draw in your sketchbook, but you can use bigger paper if you want. If you are going outside, grab a drawing board. If you are working from your computer, search different types of trees (apple, oak, redwood, cherry, bonzai!) until you find one that works. Again, make sure you are working from a PHOTOGRAPH of a tree, not a drawing.
